FIRST DAY : Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Welcome by our tour guide, he’ll conduct us to the port, in order to take an outboard engine boat, and start the journey to the The Cayman Lodge Amazonie, we’ll navigate upstream for about two hours, and during we’ll be able to watch the wild natural beauty of the Amazon Lowlands. Refreshing welcome drink at the lodge,made up with local fruits.Check in and a short walk to meet the staff and to know the lodge. Typical lunch, in the afternoon we’ll visit the surroundings of the lodge, plenty of Brazilian chestnut trees. We’ll see different species of monkeys, serpents, rodents, blu butterflies, toucans and other birds. At this time we’ll have dinner. SECOND DAY : TRIP TO THE CLAY LICK
Early, after an healthy breakfast, we’ll navigate upstream the river for about four - five hours, to reach the TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE, where happen a beautiful scene of colour and sound, every morning, when thousands of birds go to have breakfast at the clay; it’s the MACAW CLAY LICK, one of the biggest in the world. After lunch our guide will take us to a walk in the jungle, to discover different paths. We’ll install our base camp close to the clay. Camping equipment will be provided. Jungle Peru, Tours Cusco
Dinner and overnight.
THIRD DAY : After an early wake-up and a light breakfast, we’ll have the chance to reach the opposite shore of the clay lick before the sunrise. From this position we’ll have the best view of the show. Hundreds of macaws, parrots and parakeets go to the clay, to lick salt and minerals, necessary for their diet. Jungle Peru, Tours Cusco
FOURTH DAY : We’ll return to the lodge to row on the shores of Condenado ox bowl Lake.We’ll see a peculiar bird, the hoatzin. After we’ll return to the lodge, dinner. A night walks in the jungle to look for insects and to hear the sound of the jungle nightlife. Overnight.
FIFTH DAY : Early after breakfast, we’ll return to Puerto Maldonado. The sunrise in the Tambopata River is a great experience. The guide will remain with us until the moment of departure. Jungle Peru, Tours Cusco
